Tara Betts is the author of ARC AND HUE and BREAK THE HABIT, as well as the chapbooks THE GREATEST: AN HOMAGE TO MUHAMMAD ALI and 7 X 7: KWANSABAS. She also edited a critical edition of Philippa Duke Schuyler's long-out-of-print memoir/travelogue ADVENTURES IN BLACK & WHITE and co-edited THE BEIGING OF AMERICA: PERSONAL NARRATIVES ABOUT BEING MIXED RACE IN THE 21ST CENTURY. Tara holds a Ph.D. in English from Binghamton University and a MFA fromNew England College, and is also a Cave Canem fellow. She currently writes, teaches, and lives in Chicago.
